FAQ's

How long will my pets grooming take?

A small pup groom is usually  1-1.5 hours and a larger pup groom is around 1.5-2 hours.

We groom each pup straight through to ensure their visit at our salon is as stress free and enjoyable as possible!

Why does my pup shake sometimes coming in the salon?

There are a variety of things that can cause your pup to shake coming into the salon including: anxiety from the car ride, excitement, or not being positive as to where they are at. It is also important to remember that your pup is going to pick up on how you feel, so if you are anxious, or babying them more than normal they may be concerned as to why and reflect your emotions. When entering the salon, it is important to remain calm and reassuring and demonstrate confidence to help them feel secure and calm. Usually once their parent leaves, they just become enthusiastic about all of the new smells and do great!

How often should I groom my pet?

It's great to have your pet groomed every 4-8 weeks depending on their coat type and preferred length. Pups who keep their hair short are recommended to come in every 6-8 weeks whereas pups with longer hair need more regular visits, every 4-6 weeks, for coat maintenance and to prevent matting.  Not only is regular grooming good for your pet's health and hygiene but keeping them on a good schedule and routine helps to decrease their stress and keep them acclimated to the grooming process.

Do I stay with my pet while he/she is groomed?

We have found that pups become anxious and wiggly when they know their parent is there and tend to get overly excited as they think it is time to leave. For their safety and due to insurance purposes, we do not allow pet parents to be in the grooming area.

Is it Kennel Free?

We aim to cause as little stress as possible and create a positive grooming experience for all of our pups. All pups are different and for most pups the velocity dryer is a great option, and they sit relaxed for the whole process with no need to go in a kennel. For other pups they may get annoyed part way through or try to eat the air, become a potential danger to themselves, or simply are very elderly or not medically fit enough to be dried with the velocity dryer.  For pups like this we have the kennels as an alternate option. The benefit of the kennel fans is that it allows them to lay down on a soft towel and be slowly dried by a nice quiet breeze in a space that makes them feel secure and comfortable.
